PETER LUGER

LOCATION: 178 Broadway Brooklyn, NY

CATEGORY: Steak house

RATING: B-

FAVORITES: Creamed spinach and dinner rolls

COMMENTS: From the Brooklyn attitude bartenders to the antique cash registers, this cash-only restaurant has an old and rustic appeal. Expect to wait long, even with reservations. The pricey steak for three, which fed four, was cooked medium-rare as we asked but was not up to par, though, the creamed spinach made entirely of butter was amazing! I'm glad that I made the trek out to this famous steak house just to say I have been there, but I do not recommend it if you are wanting the best steak ever.

  1. Definitely over rated. Hectic, busy, and steaks (our 4) were over charred/burned. Not a great taste or presentation for a $133 plate for 3. Even the single steak was not impressive. Too much money for something that can double as a shoe sole. Not recommended based on our experience. If you have money to burn please give it to the cooks to burn your steak well done.
